In The Conception Queue Poem by Adrian Flett

In The Conception Queue

Rating: 5.0

One of the fortunate few
I got the nod in the conception queue
while others hanker await their fate.
Keen to have a chance to live
not out in that arcane space,
of which we the living know not
but here in this physical other place.

Aware so few attempts to breed
allow fertile conception to succeed;
so they stay alert once coitus looms
yet there seems no preference given
in this random chance for earthly life's design
or is there a purpose hidden?
Some evolutionary or master plan divine.
