In My Own Eyes Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

In My Own Eyes

Ehud, the son of Gera was a left-handed man;
But Eglon, king of Moab, was an exceptional fat man!
And my sweet mind of love is for you all,
But the world around us should be guided with love.

Long live the king! !
Long live the bard! !
But you are like the woman after my heart;
And with the sweet words from the Valley of Zeboiyim!

Of the young women going out to draw water,
Andlike where the swords and the spears rested at last;
But i need one of them to share my sweet love with,
And like the peace of the world without war.

I am very small in my own eyes but very big in your eyes!
But my donkey could not rest like your monkey last night;
And like someone making love under the pomegranate tree,
But the world around us needs peace than war.
