In A Strange Land Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

In A Strange Land

Rating: 5.0

We live in strange
Urban land,
Here, no one seems
No one's friend,
The right hand can't
Comprehend
What the left hand
Might next do;
Beware the breath
You next take,
It might turn out
Pretty fake!

Thank you indeed for the feedback...but nothing of the sort. This little ditty was a simple quatrain to start with, Then a quirky thought came, and I broke it into small phases, made a few changes, to look like how it is now, giving it a modern dress.... and lo it attracted richer response than I would have expected otherwise.

The Modern Society well captured, Due to many up-to-day implements, gadgets and all that more, one seems not to need the help of the other, we can live online, do our shoppings online and even chat online. But I prefer the society as my grandmum had experienced and that can be realized, I reckon. You have created a brilliant poem of today's society, Sir. Thank you so much for sharing this magnificent poem. A 10 Full Score.

Times have changed. With increasing urbanisation and the advent of newer and newer technologies, life has become more mechanical. The personal intimacy and warmth have totally disappeared from our relationships. Life has become more complicated and hectic that we do not know even our next door neighbour. There is always an uncertainty in the air and we cannot anticipate what will happen at the next moment! A succinct image of modern times.....!
