If I Take My Eyes Off Of Him Poem by Rachel Hughes

If I Take My Eyes Off Of Him

Peter became frightened by the sight of the wind.

And Peter began to sink.

Because Peter took his eyes off of him.

Now life is hard it's like a storm driven sea.

Crashing and blowing and rolling,

Tossing the wind, and waves at me.

(chorus)

I've learned to keep my heart stayed upon him.

I've learned not to look at the waves and the wind.

Like a rock I would sink.

If I take my eyes off of him.

V3

Now just because I'm a Christian.

Don't mean, I won't have my back to a wall.

I've had my share of troubles.

I've been through many dark Squall's.

V4

If I focus on the problems that lie ahead.

I would never get through life.

I would stumble, fall and drowned.

In every little pool of strife.

Bridge

At his command, Jesus has the wind and waves

Jesus saves.

And If I take My eyes off of him.

The troubles in this life would do me in.

(Repeat Chorus)
