If Poem by Hannatu Pqrs

If

If every stone were to be turned
And every tree stripped of its leaves
If every pupil were to pay their fees
If every bit of fuel were to be burned
Then we won't cheat and be punished.

If castles were rubbish heaps
And dogs, toothless beasts
If barbecues were to be cannibal feasts
If servants were to save all their tips
Then we will have no cause to be in anguish.

If the snake should be friend
And the harmless bird, enemy
If suicide were to be remedy
If man were to climb the heavens and spy its end
Then we won't all be astonished.

If we were to do wrong and accept we did
And women were to have as many spouses as men do
If human beings were to be, at once, black and white too
If the great mountains should bend to feed
Then we won't all have to be refurbished.
