Idle Mind People Poem by Phyllis Strong

Idle Mind People

Some people may call you stupid.
Some people may say you’re crazy.
Idle mind people will talk about everyone
as they sit around being lazy.

You’re not crazy or stupid,
believe in yourself, you have good sense.
The people who says these things;
Has too much free time spent.

Idle mind people, that’s all they do;
Is sit around talking about you.
They don’t have a productive life,
so they sit around and gossip, stirring up strife.

They point and whisper,
call you out your name.
Their little idle minds;
Always playing games

They say “how you doing?
I hope that all is well.”
But in their envious heart;
They wish that all you do will fail.

When the wicked, your enemies and your foes;
come upon you to eat up your flesh,
they will stumble and fall.

Idle mind people are hating on you;
‘cause they don’t love themselves at all.
