I Want To Say Poem by Cee Bea

I Want To Say

I want to say that

I just don't care anymore.
that trials as tall as they are cumbersome
presented, as if with glee by heinous specters,
have now
beaten sound back to silence
hoping I might
offer a recognition of defeat
…in a voice to all that murmurs,
‘ I give, you win ‘

But that would not be true.

Its easy to practice what you preach-
when everyone loves you,
the sun is out and life is light.

To know such a degree of sadness, I hope no
one ever suffers, where cuts are callous
made with jagged edges, and little care.

that which was left before me and
leaves me now bitter, is angry, angry because

I still pray for everyone, especially those
whom would, in callous disregard
laugh at the faith I maintain and hold so close.

still, while in the midst of doubt and obvious
apprehension, round angry dogs and rainy nights
My gate and structure remain straight
and I still offer to him who has given what he can

I do
believe and am thankful for yet another day
