I Love Thee, My Love, Mon Amour Poem by Hebert Logerie

I Love Thee, My Love, Mon Amour

Rating: 5.0

You said that when we were young
That was infatuation
And I told you to hold your tongue
That was sheer passion.

I'm taking the Almighty above
As my witness
Believe me, that was love, love
In its infancy in my chest.

That was love growing up in my heart
Adoring you at the first sight
And dreaming of you the first night.

Forgive me, if I'm ever wrong
Listen to my prayer and my song
As we go forward, I will always be smart.

I loved you then
I want to be your man
I love thee forever
My love, my flower.

That was not infatuation
That was calculated passion
Because we're no longer young
We should swallow each other's tongue.
