I Long For You Poem by shakil ahmed

I Long For You

I LONG FOR YOU

In the morning of dew drops
You sleep like a cold corpse
I long to walk hand in hand
Though people call it fool's errand

The hour of florid purple noon
Which is Nature's special boon
I long for your sweet smile
And fortunately you never beguile.

In the steady hour of evening
I don't blame you for not seeing
For evening is long and cold
You decorate yourself with diamond and gold.

In the hour of twilight
Everything becomes just and right
You hold me squeezing tight
And we eagerly wait for dark night.

In the silent hour of midnight
I often lose you from my sight
When I long to cling you tight
To get a kind of celestial delight.
