I Know I Will Surely Rise Again Poem by Adams King

I Know I Will Surely Rise Again

Rating: 2.5

It's been years you broke this flower pot
Mocked my feelings and made me cry
I wonder if you knew how bad I was hurt
Or how I hid my tears under the watery sky

It's been years you stepped upon my heart
I wonder if you knew how sad I felt
You tore my feelings into tattered rags
And made the ice cube of my eyes melt

You tormented me like a thousand devil
Gave me sleepless nights and restless days
Yet I kept in you in my precious heaven
In my heart your space was never replaced

Sometimes I wonder if you did the same
Or left me in your past and gave me no room
You made me walk in pains and in shame
Through those path I once walked with you

You made me fall like a withered leaf
I was lost in love and was found in pains
You made me lose faith in my own belief
And made loss where i once made gains

You let me down and broke me into pieces
but as long as you left my feelings unchained
As long as you left this soul breathing
Someday I know I will surely rise again
