I Dream To Dare.... Poem by Shaun Cronick

I Dream To Dare....

Rating: 5.0

This chair in which I sit in,
This chair so soft and square.
This chair in which I dream in,
Can take me places anywhere.

To lands mythical and fantastic,
With fables and adventures to share.
Beholding sights and other worlds.
Wondrous things I dream to dare.

That's what happens when you get old and gray.

What a wonderful dream to share, Shaun. Heartwarming and inspiring. Yes, we must continue dreaming. It is in dreams that sometimes we can find solace, happiness and tread places we have never seen even in our wildest imagination. A beautifully crafted poem from the mind of a brilliant and dedicated Poet. To my Poem List and so many stars.....

Thank you Lodigiana for your most captivating comment and truth be told I did enjoy writing this one and again said truth be told the short and sweet ones are the trickiest to write. For a writer can swamp them sometimes and they lose their impact and message. Many thanks again and remain poetry enriched and blessed.

Dominic many thanks and the Wishing Chair series of books by Enid Blyton are such great stories for kids to enjoy. And I can't remember the wings too. And Roald Dahl when he was 6 years old did meet with Enid Blyton, his writing inspiration and heroine. Thanks again and take care.

Thank you Rose Marie and this is a variation on a theme again. For me the simple ones are the hardest to nail. Thanks again and take care.

Sometimes the simplest of ideas and images can surpass all time and convention..this poem does just that Shaun! I can remember so vividly that feeling of just being transported to places that we hold in our dreams..you have perfectly described that wonderful, almost childish joy..It's a great piece my friend! Ah... this takes me right back to childhood and 'The Wishing Chair' series by Enid Blyton. Do you remember it? I think that the chair had wings on it didn't it? I used to love these stories. Your poem is very inspiring and most imaginative. I'm sure Enid would agree. It's definitely a fantasy filled five from me!
