I Am Only A Spoke In A Wheel Poem by Terence George Craddock

I Am Only A Spoke In A Wheel

I am only a spoke in a wheel not a chariot not a wagon
the chariot is important takes a king into heart of battle
the chariot is important carries a king in a victory parade
the wagon is important carries supplies food weapons to troops
the wagon is important carries troops to battle home to houses
the chariot is swift graceful like a leopard leaping into battles
the wagon is steady powerful like an ox pulling heavy loads
I am only a spoke in a wheel not a chariot not a wagon

break a spoke a problem break several chariot wagon cannot move
chariot wagon cannot move with broken wheels when wheels fall off
without the spoke without spokes soon nothing moves no work is done
I am a sturdy strong spoke not chariot slender a spoke on wagon wheel
like a bucket handle a bucket used to carry water to fields thirsty mouths
like a plough breaks grounds sow fields simple things have purpose place
