Hungry Heart Poem by Jan Jarnigan

Hungry Heart

Rating: 4.5

What can I write for a hungry heart?
Words of love sadden the lonely.
Words of sorrow dampen the lovers' joy.
Words of mirth and glee are too effervescent
For the serious.
Words that strike with somber tone,
Quell the jubilant one.
So what can I write for a hungry heart?

I will write choice words that will
touch the mind, the soul.....
They will present you a variety
Of emotions:
Joy, love, sadness, anger, thoughtfulness...
And maybe some of these thoughts,
Will for now,
Satisfy a hungry heart.

This is another beautiful poem of yours that I've just read. 'I will write choice words that will touch the mind, the soul.....' That's the job of a poet. Well said!
