Hooked on hope, look at daring drops
Flying from fountains of feelings in December
Praising the resurgence of hope in scopes
Where good tidings in the main you dared to remember

What's the point? You did ask
You navigated these dates, gates and threats before
Performing with diligence your humanitarian task
In spite of mixed feelings stifling the sentimental score

That proved human nature flew fickle
Smelled unpredictable, spelled unstable at best
Wondering why your grandson's eyes twinkle
Sparkling in your darkness, urging you to pass the temerity test

In seas teeming with pettiness
To reclaim the moral high ground
You climbed in 2019 in spite of the haughtiness
That poured cold water on your resonance romance round.
