Heartbreak Poem by Cowboy Ron Williams

Heartbreak

Rating: 5.0

She's left me now. I knew somehow
it was too good to last.

She loved me once. I was a dunce
to let her learn my past.

When she got wise to all my lies
I could not keep her here.

Now all my days I stare and gaze
just wishing she were near.

Sad it is that someone who we dearly loved once is no more with us. The longing and nostalgia will plague us for sometime. But man is so resilient.... he can fight and bounce back. Wish you better times!

" I was a dunce to let her learn my past." Honesty... has a price... and you got it late... perhaps!

I can imagine this one, Ron, being sung to a mournful cowboy tune and accompanied by a single guitar, the cowboy himself sitting on a log and illumined by a camp fire. -Glen
