Heal Thyself O Patient: Part Iii Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Heal Thyself O Patient: Part Iii

In was called nursing help, and like a cow
As if to a slaughter house I was led,
I was on verge of rebelling by now
But failed, as led whilst worst of worries sped
In mind—I looked at the stern-looking nurse,
What if relief turns out worse than my pain?
But false bravado was all I could feign
That brought at best an inaudible curse.

When they thought of changing course, it was time
To muse if wisdom like tides wane and wax,
But docs' reasons do not with reason rhyme,

‘I need take a goodly look at your X-
Ray'; my poor arm, it sure was caught in crime,
It looked like culprit's bleeding, dripping red axe.
