He Got Lost On His Way, A Rajnish Manga Hindi Poem In English Translation
He who wanted to show us the way
got lost on his way.
He could see the unseen, we thought
and poured our praises on him.
But his designs, politics, slogans
are as good as hooligans.
What does he know is how to deliver a speech.
When he speaks, everyone is spellbound.
रस्ता खुद ही भूल गए हैं, जो थे मार्गदर्शी जी
जिनका सब आदर करते थे, कहके दूरदर्शी जी
उनके नक़्शे, नारे, नीति, काम नहीं आने वाले
जबकि भाषण करते हैं वो, सबसे मर्मस्पर्शी जी

I almost always place a link to the translation in the comments section of the original poem. I missed this time and will do it now. I liked your poem. It portrays well a typical politician in many countries, especially in the third world.. Such politicians know how to put wool in the eyes of the electorate.
