Why Can't we all just be happy?
What is stopping us?
We have sunshine
We have sky
Birds of colour
That fly so high
There are lots of luxuries
Like food and drink
Electronics
That help us think
The warmth of love
We are fortunate to possess
Though many alone
Totally loveless
Do we not know
How to appreciate
For we have so much
Or are we just so out of touch
The worlds a bloody mess
Just look at us all
Fighting, killing
Now the Afghanistan fall
It breaks my heart
Seeing we don't care for the living
Spare a thought
We take so much from this earth
Though lack in giving
Indeed, what is stopping us? ! Excellently rendered. I have enjoyed a very lot.The words touch my heart
4 stars and a great big SMILE (I read your bio here today) for another 'former'? PH friend. Lyn, you have touched on various aspects of the 'human condition'. I give 4 stars. Best wishes! bri ;)
'The worlds a mess' Lyn, earlier today I found an apostrophe on a dirty sidewalk in the Bronx NY. I finally have found from where it is missing: 'worlds'. ;)))
I really wish that all those in power, all those wordly materialistic super powers could read this or think like this instead of their selfish deadly games causing loss of life and misery for others. What a great, compassionate poem that is so needed for the world to heal. Kudos! !
'The worlds a mess' hee-hee....'world's' I too, enjoy the rhyming. And WHO/WHAT will 'Heal the world'? Lyn, my friend, you ask the imposson; r I feel. : (
Why Can't we all just be happy? ---A pertinent question...but the answer is not so easy. When there is bloodbath around it is difficult to be happy. Our sympathy for the innocent victims makes us sad But our own effort to help them will heal the world.
