Growing Older Is A Blessing Poem by Hebert Logerie

Growing Older Is A Blessing

After a certain age, there is a new spring
Before the abrupt coming of summer
Growing more mature or older is a blessing
Experience is golden and it lasts forever.

Wine gets better with the years
Cheese has a tendency to follow
The same path. Have no fears
Shed no tears, and listen to the crow.

Being older or more mature is a blessing
Life is made of countless steps and seasons
Growing older brings more styles and reasons.

Enjoy every second of life, be wise and strong
Sit tight, rock the chair, and listen to the song
That won't go away: being older is a blessing.

P.S. This poem is dedicated to my favorite, Australian poet, Robert Murray Smith.
