Gone Yesterday Poem by Benjamin Icon Ede

Gone Yesterday

Like a startled bird
Away has flown yesterday
With the wings of the wind
While upon the arms of pillow I lay
Cherishing the beauty amidst her eyes not hands
Fetching liquid-treasure with basket in my mind
While winter travels by

You dissappeared like the night
Revealing a naked day
Like a snap of the finger
You flutter and sneak away
Never to revisit here again
Was it known of your fast feet
Would me till my garden
And make blossom its bud
Wilt thou succumb to the caressing lips of lullaby
Like a tender tot
Shall i array you a bronze collar
And a golden chain to adorn thy feet
Till tomorrow never come
Till you vomit all my treasure you have quietly swallowed

Could i cajole you here again
Would i make feeble thy feet
For all my reverie
I'd carve forever real
Am still dreaming
Gone is yesterday
