Golden Stream Of Knowledge Poem by Mockingjay Mellark

Golden Stream Of Knowledge

Rating: 5.0

A golden stream of knowledge flows
like rippling river to reservoir
Of facts, enjoyment, life survival
tis cheaper than a teacher to hire
Though it hath entered place anew
the boundless waters of knowledge yet flow
Washing it's lush banks like silvery dew
many from it drink and many through it row
It gives so much yet doth not lose
a single crystal drop- not a li'l
Full as ever from the L-rd's rain, sweet as Fuze
t'stream brims high to overspill
This stream is as a book often read
by readers old and new alike
Both get it's knowledge put into their heads
the book is like a voice heard by many o'er a mike
The book-the stream-losing not
despite what it gives
A single crystal or knowledgable drop
the stream-the book-still forever on lives

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Like a stream that quenches thirst but doesn't lose it's content but can share with so many, so is knowledge and books.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I love the title of this poem! It's such an exuberant. glittering, triumphant expression. It prepared me for a poem that did not express one shallow or depressing or self-serving message. Instead you talk about the enrichment you seek with energy and hope; you talk about this source of knowledge being available to everyone. And you invite everyone to participate. This is one of the most generous poems I have read in ages.
