We almost had the breath to hold the details
But were cradled in a coffin so bleak
The smile will never see is drowning
Cause the heart we could have loved will never be
If you listen closely you can see
The beating of the death drums
If you're looking closely you will hear
War, give me war, Give me war
How deep must we dive to find it?
To the ends of the world we could seek
The game so it seems is in the hiding
While the thrones give a power that shouldn't be
If there's war fought within the heavens
How can we expect peace on earth where we sleep?
As long as humans live they'll want more

So fight for earth, fight for freedom
Fight for lies we surely need them
War for honor, war for pain
War for Ill gotten gained
Hopes curse bathes men in denial
Forcing them to seek things that can never be
Histories song stuck in idle
