George Floyd Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

George Floyd

Rating: 4.3

I have just heard about
The incident,
But sometimes do they mistake
In handling cases
Done in haste
Without hearing the voice in pain
As human frailty is in their judgement.
The matter too is true
All are not convicts and criminals,
Not the offenders,
Sometimes hoaxes too turn they hoarse
And we err, but blunder we
From which there is no escape
From lapses and slips.

You give a fair, balanced treatment of the tragedy. The policeman would not have set out deliberately to kill George Floyd. Especially over a minor, counterfeit money accusation. Even so, the physical punishment which the police officer gave George was dangerous and life-threatening.

To err is humane but to turn away your face from the truth is painful

This is tantamount to failure of the system especially in the developed countries. They think themselves as more educated, liberal and enlightened. Their police force claims to be highly professional.

To err is human But, egoistically to err is not human; more that beast! ! !
