I am diagnosed with a Chronic Mental Illness
as such I consider surgical feminization
as lifesaving necessities, Medicare covers
reconstruction of breasts, does that necessitate
a breast actually being there in the first place
If I was born like Jesus a cisgender female with
a deformity of not developing breasts
would that be covered

Dear Anonymous, There is no scope in the
Medicare Benefit Schedule codes for breast surgery
for a male to female transsexual patient
or a Cisgender patient, nor does the MBS codes
in the name of Jesus, cater for patients
who may or may not have been
diagnosed with major psychiatric illness.
