From Boyden To Nima Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

From Boyden To Nima

From Nima to Boyden

Pen in hand, am writing
-in times write cautiously
-afraid that my words may…

But should I?

Now reading of Boyden
-which I need for movie
-on Missing and Murdered
- (Indigenous women, girls)
-I see what he faces
-from those he wrote of
-as if of "Avatars"

Some hate him and insult!

My mind in Clinton and Goderich
-areas over there, Stratford…

Had gone to meet Munro
-the winner of Nobel
-yes "Alice"

I spoke with people
-the writer is hated
-not by one but many

"We know each character…"
-they tell me of Munro's stories

She writes of her place
-and Boyden writes of his
-and Nima in Iran

Noori was a colleague and he said:
- "Nima is crazy! "
-since he is like one of characters

"Hey Nassy…"
-I tell me…
- "…keep writing; be steeled…no worries! "
