For There I Found Between Pages Of Old Poem by Kevin Hulme

For There I Found Between Pages Of Old

For there I found between pages of old
A single Rose from a year untold.
To rest forlorn among a harvest of Rhyme
A trophy of Love in a Lyrical Shrine.
When placed there by a faithful Heart
A kindred Soul with Love to impart.
But what stories tell of the fading Rose
When long-ago in passion throes,
Two People met for Moonlit Walks
And pledging faith with honeyed talk.
Or hand in hand by lowing Sun
All rites of Love then soon begun.
For all life's food are within the eyes
Of two such Hearts when dreams applied.
The World embraced and there remain
In each to bloom when Loves to gain.
But what became those Lovers all told
Was faith as strong when growing old,
And lie together side by side
Into their graves where Children cried?
For there I found between pages of old
Where lines of Verse of passions bold,
A Heartfelt token of long-ago
A Remembrance of one that fate bestowed.
