Depriving of all the things
Which flag of fame would you hoist
Having taken away everything from me
What else would you snatch out my Lord?
Who longs for earthly wants
Would remain with you
After disruption of all faith on you
How can you frighten me any more?
Swindling me from time to time
I understood you are shrewd
Do you think of misguiding me
Amidst the crowd to stand feckless?
To avoid your cunning plans
I pushed off all my burdens
You have cut down all the ropes
So, how will you put me in your net?
You allure me, call me
To enjoy sadistic my dance
Once again to deceit me,
To offend me on road
squeezing my ears.
Deprived of all the things
Which flag of fame would U hoist?
The man who wrote this poem has a broken heart; I am sure his reasons for flying the flag of fame were very sincere, ...maybe he wanted to take part in something bigger than himself. But he was emotionally wounded, so he had to disengage his feelings from that endeavor.
This is a original poem written by an eminent poet of Odisha Kantakavi Laxmikant Mohapatra. It was written praying to Lord Jagannath. Have lyrical appearance in film 'Nabajanma' in year 1962.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
I trust him. He wanted to know and be known by people, so he could contribute his gifts. The gods encourage us to draw the circle of our feelings wider. But he was wounded. So he tells them of this tragedy. In his way, I think he still cares about the gods..
