Feeding Flu Poem by emerson achari

Feeding Flu

You think that i am a myth
a character from a book
a rumor spread from from fathers past
to their irresponsible present youth

You relate me to bats
i hate you for that
you think that you are safe
i laugh at your haste

i know more than you think
i am here the second before you blink
i have seen you kids and know their names
i was there when you thought no one was
i saw all your pathetic secrets dear
so fun it will be to see you quiver in fear

you think you found the perfect house
so innocent you are
the place silent and serene
the society quiet and peaceful
perfect you thought
so did i

i write now to give you a chance
leave now and no one will die
run now and none will cry

but if you stay i warn you
lock and bolt the doors tight
silence your annoying voices
and for once in your life pray
for the door will not last forever

you see now as i am the monster that you secretly fear
and i feed once every tenth of a year
So unfortunate it is for you
you caught me in my time of feeding flu.
