Father and me
Tears rushed on cheeks
Even though I did not seek
But it saddened me with old memory
I had seen the real poverty
Father was too old to work
But kept on repeating one word
Sell everything for progress
But do not go after mad chase
I followed his advice
And improvised
With all dedication and honest work
As I had done real homework
Mother, as usual, sided with father
I too shared some of the work for her
We were barely meeting two ends
"Never let"was our clear trend
"I wish" you should not suffer
He used to whisper
I felt like going down today
He has so much to tell on the way
It may be my story
But might be the same for everybody
Where father stands tall in our eyes
As he always wanted us to come out with flying colors
