Father Above, Send Me A Raven Poem by Yewande Adedokun

Father Above, Send Me A Raven

Peace seek me
But I gave it a knock on the head
How do I say sorry?
same wrongs, same name of lost
Father above, send me a raven

Anger pumps through me like fuscillade
Bitterness is the route of my soul's labyrinth
I know it is wrong. keep up and justify all
Father above, send me a raven

At day, laydown all the good
At night my soul floods with sin
As I close my eyes to weakness
Father above, send me a raven

My shoes becomes tight
I go on feet now
journey begins with pebbles thrusting into its bareness
Have mercy on me, hear my loud croak
Father above, send me a raven

Thorns thrust my soul from both sides
And beyond is a field of thorns
Give something like roses to sooth my skin
Send the rain to wash my blood stains
Father above, send me a raven
