Fasting For The Poor And The Oppressed Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

I have chosen this kind of fasting.
All the chains of injustice
shall be loosened and all
the cords of the yoke shall
be untied to set the oppressed
free into the land of joy.
Break down and destroy
the yoke of slavery of all kinds.
Share your food with the hungry
and provide the poor wanderer.
give him shelter and care.
clothe the naked, and
give them money on their way.

This is the kind of fasting
that I love and I want you to do.
