Excuses Excuses By Gio Masserati

Excuses Excuses
You like excuses
to hide their abuses
they find a flaw
or two or more
then put you down
rug on the floor

stepped on
crooked dart
now they feel good
King of your heart

a swine a snake
your precious life at stake
pearls cast on floor
now gone out that door
SLAM!

wham bam, no thank you maam
pack your bags and don't look back
no confidence left- some dignity in tact
Get out, Now, or you'll get whacked!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Gain courage-Gain wisdom...leave your excuses behind
Exercise your boundaries- -you are not being mean- -you are being strong- -what's not nice about that?
National statistics show that the highest number of physical abuse deaths are men and women who go back to their abusers after they have left. Many do not survive. If it takes you one or numerous attempts...Leave when you can! Get out of there! Don't look back!
