Evening's Solitude Poem by Almedia Knight-Oliver

Evening's Solitude

Rating: 5.0

In evening's solitude sipping a glass of wine, or
maybe two, and listening to Roberta's love songs
Being spirited away dizzily to dream land

Recalling your eyes that once never wearied of mine
Tonight the weight of uncertainty keeps my lids wide
Envisioning love and passion waning like the moon

Remembering still...
The baby breathing quietly
Passion wide awoke…these are
Times to keep awake and watching
stars in the distance sky...
Childhood screams and dreams are
behind, like our last passionate kiss

My dear we're just tired so,
let's just sleep
Eternity lies far ahead
Leaving love behind

Hi Almedia - a lovely evocative poem with just the right mixture of nostalgia and hope. Human love is transient and does wane (my wife and I are the same age as you!) but God's love is constant. When we all get to Heaven we shall all be changed we will mount up with wings like Eagles, we will run and not be weary (when did that last happen) we will walk and not faint. Keep looking up the Lord is surely there waiting for us all! God Bless - John. I'll give it 10!

Reflective... tranquil… and yet, it breaks my heart… passionate kisses ought not ever be gone until the end and the kissers are gone.

Hon’ble Poet Ma’am taken patent on poeming on final exit- separation - de - partment - dislodgement - cleavage…still the poetic melancholy calorie makes readers calorie oblivious [lolol]…will lead to gain of fatty knowledge and flabby joy by the readers…… thanks sharing… Ms. Nivedita UK 10/10
