English Diplomatic Affairs Poem by Al J. Cuesta

English Diplomatic Affairs

Rhetorical nuisance of an act, it is!
Why should I bestow upon my country such simplicity of a chore?
It all started like this:

The attaché to the chargé d'affaires
Who was nothing more than an embassy envoy
Sent to my chancery, in an attempt of diplomacy,
Such a poorly executed démarche
The aide-memoir circled round in détente
As a pseudo communiqué in pursuit of an entente
That looked to act as rapprochement
And of course, led to no accord
Since we look not for alliances or treaties
We do always require a passport
In order to properly follow protocol

The French have already invaded our cuisine
I will not let them come in to invade too, our vocabulary.
