Dreamers Beacon Poem by Sven Rhoads

Dreamers Beacon

A shift in the wind has dropped me to this place
Still standing in the shadow of a failed design
No comfort will change the warriors face
For he has only one thing on his mind

The sand is falling fast in the hourglass
As the chapter is coming to a close
Wings of the eagle heave a storm surge blast
Across the land he rides to where his heart knows

He has closed his eyes a thousand times
But the dream never comes to change
A light in the dark from a world within heart
Unknown but never so strange
For the mountains call, consuming his soul
Like a lighthouse to an endless ocean
Where the ravens carry what people have buried
The hope that there's a place for him

This journey of the lone bruises and scrapes
He like the branches bend but not break
The drowning words spit from surrendered souls
Just want one more to fall into their hole

So he gathers his lot through the struggle and strife
Tired from scraping the knuckles deep red
For the ultimate solution there's no quit to his fight
When he knows there's a place he belongs instead
