Dream Of Delicious Ice Cream
While walking past a shop of sweets,
I surveyed little bit a dreamland of treats,
eyes glued at myriad of flavors, all bold and new,
but alas, my dream was too good to be true.
For as I approached the eager vendor,
he greeted me with a smile and shook hands so tender,
I felt the pleasure which is beyond any glee,
The tongue filled with water and spilled all over me.
Three scoops of gold (strawberry) were sixty a buck,
And a chocolate swirl made me feel like bankrupt,
now don't dare to ask for a heavenly swirl,
they'd require my house, my car, my pearl.
Oh, the irony of this ice cream dream,
where sugar and cream reign supreme,
a delicacy reserved for the wealthy few,
while the rest of us settle for less, it's true.
I won't be swayed by this ice cream snare,
Oh no, my dear, I won't despair,
for in the realm of dreams, there's always hope,
To find affordable ice cream, I'm ready to walk on a rope.
I'll venture into the land of bargains,
where commonsense triumphs, and money is king,
there, I'll find cones that don't cost my soul,
And sundaes that won't leave me feeling droll.
'The tongue filled with water and spilled all over me.' Assuming 'The tongue' was YOURS and not the vendor's, that line was particularly humorous. (cont.)
(cont.) It also brought an image of you to my mind, with your tongus hanging far out of your mouth like a hound dog watching its food bowl being filled to its brim. : )

I would make 'commonsense' into 'common sense'. But you are smart to be on the 'bargain trail'! ! In some places your use of commas at line endings, and fo capital letters vs. lower case letters 'bothers' me. But I'm an ICE CREAM lover and your poem is 'way-cool' *** with me.
'I'm ready to walk on a rope.' Would that be a 'tightrope' over Niagara Falls or to the top of The Eiffel Tower? ?
'sixty a buck, ' what is THAT? ? More favorite lines: 'now don't dare to ask for a heavenly swirl, they'd require my house, my car, my pearl.' Stanza 4 is my favorite so far! ! ;) bri
