Don't Be Hasty Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

Don't Be Hasty

By Freeyad Ibrahim

We see sometimes the sparrow for crow
And see the eyes blurred for the eyebrow
Do good and throw it into water
As you hear often from friend and foe
But in reality, you grow what do you throw
Give the poor as far your hands possess
For you saw what you do grow
Do not do bad even it would save you
Badness floats someday before your face
For the future's calamities you don't know
Be high, thinking high, doing high, don't be low.
Don't regard any one good and faithful
One day from him may come the painfullest blow
Don't be by all means too hasty to harvest the crop
When you are holding in the field your plough
Do as your capacities allow you
Don't look what has Tom done or Joe
Don't feel distressed for the speed of the rabbit
If you use your head, you may be faster
Even if you were like tortoises slow
It needs time to get a loaf of bread into your mouth
Grains, milled into flour, water and fire then you make dough
Don't be sad if a calamity afflicted you
For after each ebb follows a flow
