Don'T Say Poem by Ruth warren

Don'T Say

Don't say that you really love me,
and then stab me in the back;
don't pretend that I am special to you,
and then treat me like a tramp.

Don't say all those compliments to me,
and then insult me when we're alone;
don't tell everyone that we are happy,
when I'm so miserable at home.

Don't say that you want to be a Dad again,
then insult our children we've already got;
don't call me the love of your' life,
then curse the day we met.

Don't say that you truly respect me,
then belittle me to the point of tears;
don't say that you'll always protect me,
then fill my life with fear.

Don't say that I am the only one,
then commit the things you do time after time;
don't say that you are sorry, or beg and
plead and whine.

Don't say anything at all, except
hopefully goodbye;
then I would be free of you, for all
you've said were nothing but lies.

Wow you are going through a rough patch huh... I have been there. It is so theraputic to write it down like this - I know trust me! Though my husband felt for the longest that all I felt about him was negative and that was not it all. I only find it hard to write when I need no medication (writing is my medication) .
