Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Gentleman? Poem by Jacson Gelato

Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Gentleman?

Don't polish the shoes
that are made of rubber;
they are called gumboots
and they are used to walk in the fields;

don't write those poems of anger
when all you want to do is hiss like a snake;

don't do the rebuking
when love is such a beautiful thing;

don't do anything that is not positive
as tolerance will give better results;

don't make the mirror to shine
thinking you will arrest in it the moon;

don't cry so loud when ears want to hear
gentle words and know that you are a fine gentleman.
