Disconnection And Reconnection Poem by Kiran Pillai

Disconnection And Reconnection

Disconnected from matter.
Reconnected with spirit.
A few years of madness and pills
And time filled with meaning today.

Everyone needs to disconnect
From things that are forced gently.
Our urban lives force on people
To be all that we cannot be.

I have tasted the urban spirit.
Everyone forced into commonality.
I cannot be forced into that crowd
Without the natural space around.

Tastes and desires are forced
When you don't disconnect
Manipulative forces tell us to like
Ideas and things not natural to humans.

Power, money and popularity:
Measuring stones of happiness
And whole persistences working
Just to follow this unnatural bliss

Why go behind things so unnatural?
Because few souls profit here.
There is profit in making fools
But, is that natural making fools?

Beings incarnate for wisdom
To spread right knowledge to humanity
Just to be called charlatans
And insulted for their peace.

Disconnect from the unnatural
Noises that hurt humanity
Just to make fools of us
To purchase their wares and words

Who needs words of insult
To wear on our sleeves
To chant praises for false prophets
Who dance on pedestals of materialism
