Destructive Dominance Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Destructive Dominance

Rating: 4.8

Too many muted cries
shut out behind
those thick doors.
Too many spirits broken
by ruthless raging rogues.
Marriage is a mirage
to entice innocent girls,
where bounties, gifts and love
get spirited, once you enter this world.
Like the infamous house of candy and bread
that housed the mean witch
the one we dread
Its a predators thought out plan
a bobby trap to put you in chain.
Now I know why my country
suffers in pain
we have destroyed the pedestal
where Female 'shakti' should have reigned
What is left carcass of once what it used to be
and we carry it on our shoulders
proudly displaying our imbecility.

This is a poem very well written, with an apt title. Heaven lies under the feet of mothers that we often tend to forget. Female power is the original power that has nourished mankind through ages. So ideally, the hands that rock the cradle should rule the world, at least spiritually. 'we have destroyed the pedestal where Female 'shakti' should have reigned What is left carcass of once what it used to be and we carry it on our shoulders proudly displaying our imbecility.' - I quite agree!

Being 180 degrees away makes so much difference in the two different worlds we come from. I certainly agree that cowards and bullies behave this way. May be I have been exposed to too many such men.

You certainly know how to reach the heart Nalini; my heart breaks for every unhappy woman. For the thought that one day my daughters may be unhappy...but there, at least, I can intervene; if my daughters suffer then too he will suffer ;)
