Denial - Our Melancholy Place Poem by Dean Meredith

Denial - Our Melancholy Place

She is everything
Much more
Than any of us should get

Her happenstance
My unworldly desire
To make a marriage

Heart & mind
Hers & mine
Quietly in tune

Despite the obvious
Disparagement
Not so subtle differences

Two subtle souls
Searching for completion
We ward each other off

Mostly me
Knowing my self-destructions
Not wanting her pity

Not wanting her devotion
Gladly giving her mine
Recklessly

She is everything
Much more
Than all of us should get
