Debts Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Debts

At the time we were in need
We turned to someone for a helping hand.
Because that's what friends are for indeed-
We survived as they helped us to stand.

No one can be free from all debt
That's just the way of life on this earth.
Those who helped us we must not forget
To pay them back to avoid causing any hurt.

There are those, who in words, are thankful,
But the deal is of a borrower and a lender.
Payment of debt is an act of the grateful
And the friendship is kept so much longer.

Money can be earned, it's a good friend.
But money when it rules is a cruel master.
Value the one who stands with you till the end-
True friends cannot be bought, they leave you never.
