It started with a mindset
An intention to set some goals
Encountered difficult situations
Dug deep to find self control

Choices that didn't come easy
Always came with a sacrifice
Lessons born out of those decisions
A mistake, never to be made twice

Learnt to accept disappointment
Looked fear dead in the eye
Understood what It meant to be accountable
Showed up when questioned my 'why'

I feel your presence here with me
It's uncomfortable but I yearn for more walk with me a little while longer
Whilst I choose a new path to explore
