Dear Elisabeth Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Dear Elisabeth

Rating: 5.0

I always knew you as queen
When it was yr Silver Jubilee
I discovered yr picture on the top
The main entrance of my school
However, I didn't know who you were
hWhen I asked
All my teacher said was Elisabeth
But I thought he was saying Elisabeth Taylor
'No' he said angrily 'The Queen'
However, I came from America and only seven
I didn't know anything about the monarchy
As I grew up, you were on the Twenty-dollar bill
And there on TV at Christmas
Now, you are dead, and the world is helpless
For England's longest-monarch
May yougo toa peaceful rest with yr prince

I still remember my Grade 9 history teacher saying that the queen is nothing but a rubber stamp!

A sinmcere and well written candid feeling about your 'royal' experience. Appreciate its sincerity and feelings.

For 70 years, she ruled as a majestic queen. Queen Elisabeth will be always remembered as a lady with dignity and grace.
