I asked the moon
if you could ever love me.
She did not respond
but just turned kind of green
and gave me a cheesy look.
I asked the stars
if our love was in the cards
and their only reply
was a twinkle in their eyes.
I asked the wind
if your love I'd ever win
and what she had to say
just blew me away.
My quest had just begun
when I turned to the sun,
but it became so hot
that my question I forgot.
What was I talking about?
Oh, yes! It seems that I love you.
Could you possibly love me, too?
Susan, thank you for revisiting this poem and commenting again.
Beautiful lovely lines of poetry. We keep seeking until we find that which we need.
I may have lost a comment or two I just 'sent'? ? ? line 2: I think 'she', not 'you'. You end of st.1 was humorous. : )
This is a nice poem. Life sometimes doesn't give you what you long for... and it is sad in love.
Do you mean that is sad to be in love? I have to disagree. It is WONDERFUL to be in love. Thanks for commenting.
now that is a love poem that would put a smile in the heart of any worthy gal! ! ! ! I so enjoy your poetry, my friend, they have humor, heart, and bedrock wisdom
Susan, thank you so much. I had not seen your comment sooner, but glad I saw it now.
