Corona Virus - O' God, Please Heal The World From It! Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

O God, please listen to our plight:
everyone is sleeping in fear,
a fear shared by the world;
it is not about a war
it is about a pandemic;
so many families are forced to flee
so many children turning homeless
china is silently crying
as so many are dying,
and there is such intense pain in their hearts.

The world has also been intimidated,
as the virus keeps spreading:
it is suddenly here
it is suddenly there,
it is placing its hold
everywhere all over the globe everyday.

Where will we run
if it keeps invading and reaching
every corner of the world?
and as people keep falling sick
some keep dying day after day.
O' God, is this the way to bewilder us?
Is this the way to silence humanity
when human beings are so vulnerable
so fragile that when sickness befalls
they turn into icebergs in a mortuary?

O' God, please open your eyes
give life to live, give the world a chance
to continue in good health
lest the human race perishes,
as each home so aghast with fear,
each heart so sullen with tears
each country, each city so frantic
where is the cure, they ask.

Only God, Thou art the healer
and the Merciful who can waive
the unhappiness over loss of lives,
only Thou and time can allot a forgiveness,
a remedy to let those who exist, breathe
and not depart from this world out of time
as, in this world we come just once
in this life we will live just once
in this unity and love we will abide just once.

So, O' God, please return to us our health and calm
as every corner of the world in fear aghast;
if from the mother's womb we alight,
the power of death is in Thy hands
and only Thou can help mankind to survive.
The Will is Yours, The Kingdom is Thine
So God, I ardently beseech Thee
to let the world survive as this universe
is Thy gift and Thy benevolence
for which our gratitude to Thee has been so endless.
