Clouds In My Coffee (After Carly Simon) Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Clouds In My Coffee (After Carly Simon)

Rating: 5.0

Like that song says: There were clouds in my coffee
How I daydream about yr lips; yr touch
And how you ignore me when I gave you a book
Of my poems
With yr buddies snickering when I try to talk to you
I was so nervous because I knew you didn't want
A fat girl so near you
Yes, you were vain
But I still have yr picture
I carry it around like a chalice
Like that song says: there were clouds in my coffee
Every afternoon when I drink one
I think of high school
And what could have been
