Childhood Days Poem by Parameswaran Nair Damodaran Nair

Childhood Days

Rating: 5.0

Today when I dig out
the piece of peacock feather
planted deep in my old school text
I regretfully recognise it
to be the token of your love.
The days we exchanged
cutout colour pictures
colourful chocolate wrappers
and many other childhood fancies
were days of innocence, I realise painfully.
Life is so complex
that we forget and remember
things that we should not either;
resentment can never reset
begone days so passionate

No one can recall childhood without a surge of nostalgic memories! Those were days of carefree enjoyment, when we attached a lot of importance to fanciful little things. With age, when we are plagued by the harsh realities, those beautiful memories emerge in us from time to time, soothing us and taking us back to the bygone past! Well composed!
