Chasing Memories Through Drinking Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Chasing Memories Through Drinking

Chasing memories in a bar, drinking up a storm,
wishing that saddened feelings wouldn't raise
their head.

Sitting alone, watching memories of you being
taken from this world without notice or permission,
looking at others as they come and go in this bar.

Wanting to take a spin into yesterday, getting back
a life that we two shared for years, missing you as
I sit in this bar, drinking one after another to
drown my sorrow.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
